The World Series Of Poker (WSOP) fever is raging on. International and Indian players are grinding hard in Las Vegas. From Hellmuth to Abhinav Iyer, most of the pros from across the world have all been slogging hard at WSOP 2021. Canadian poker pro and video blogger Daniel Negreanu has played poker for a few decades now. With six WSOP bracelets in his pocket, he is now playing in the Main Event of the 2021 WSOP. A few hours ago, Tiffany Michelle from pokernews.com caught up with this pro to know about his seven secrets to success in poker.
Michelle quizzed this poker champion about the preparation players do before a big tournament like the WSOP Main Event. Negreanu walked us through some of his pre and post-game rituals. He also spoke about his current routine and how he made his absolute favourite breakfast from scratch. Here are a few questions that DNegs gave the answers to.
1. What time did you go to bed last night?
11 PM as I want to get to a regular schedule. I have been playing at 3 PM normally and today I knew I had to be up early.
2. Pre-game jams?
Hockey podcasts at two times the speed!
3. When you are feeling tilted what do you do?
I just vent it on my vlog camera.
4. End of the day wind down?
I play chess, as the game helps me relax. I cannot define how the game helps my mind and takes me to a different world.
5. Pre-game workout?
I did not work out, not during WSOP.
Talking about pre-game workouts reminds us of what Austrian mindset coach Karim Chellli usually recommends poker players to do. Chelli says, “Going to the gym ensures you behave like an athlete. It’s all about athlete behaviour, because those are the things that will not just help players during a downswing but will also increase their quality of life.” Read the full article here.
