Daniel Negreanu Pays Eric Persson To See His Cards

After Daniel Negreanu and Eric Persson battled it out at a High Stakes Duel 4 $100,000 heads-up match, the rivalry seems to be continuing later too. In a fun and light-hearted manner, though.

In the match, Negreanu won while Persson was left dejected. But guess what?! Persson avenged his loss at a recent PokerGo High Stakes Poker episode. It was a four-way preflop pot worth $9,000 between Ben Lamb, Persson, Negreanu and Stanley Choi. The board showed Q 3 K . The action was checked by all four players, and the turn opened 2 .

Persson and Negreanu checked, but Lamb bet $6,000 with A Q . Choi tanked and made the call with pocket fours, followed by a quick call from Persson with J 5 in hand. DNegs, who seemed to be in a mood of fun and trolling, laughed as if he was waiting for someone to bet. He counted his chips and raised to $26,000 holding A Q .

This led to Lamb and Choi folding, while Persson saw this as the opportunity he’d been waiting for to go heads-on with the Canadian player. He immediately called, bringing a smile onto everyone’s face as everyone on the table knew what was coming up.

DNegs asked him, “What do you need? A six?” The turn opens to a 9 giving Persson a flush, and he bet $159K. The table was buzzing with jokes and trolling. “Do you have a not flush? How big is the flush?” the six-time WSOP bracelet winner asked Persson as the latter sat with a poker face.

“Do you have a straight?,” he asked again. Finally, DNegs offered Persson $20 in return for seeing one of his cards. Persson agreed and showed 5 . Negreanu starts laughing out of disbelief and says, “F*** Me!” before finally folding.

Persson scooped the $232,800 pot and avenged his loss. What do you think of Daniel Negreanu’s offer and Persson’s gameplay? Let us know in the comments below.
