Damian Salas WINS International Leg Of WSOP

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2020 has officially declared Damian Salas as its first final table winner of the $10,000 Main Event. Salas won the international leg of the hybrid version of the WSOP 2020 making his way to the top out of the 674 entries. Eight out of the nine finalists travelled to the Czech Republic to compete for the $6,470,400 prize pool.

Salas went on to defeat Brazil’s Brunno Botteon after going head-to-head and finally won the top prize of $1,550,969. The proud and happy Argentinian beamed with pride as he happily waved his nation’s flag. Second runner up Botteon, even after losing to Salas, made his name in the industry. The Brazilian is mostly an active online player. He even reached the final tables during GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Event earlier this year.

Salas commented on playing against Botteon saying, “I was very confident in my game and that hand was important. It was a tough spot, but I also knew he is also very capable of bluffing.” This incredible win for Salas was a moment of redemption after the player finished seventh in the 2017 WSOP Main Event. He now has the opportunity to return to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas at the end of the year where he will wait for the champion of the USA leg. The heads-up match for the title of World Champion 2020 is slated for 30 December.

Below are the final table results, among which popular online players like Manuel Ruivo, Ramon Miquel Munoz made it to third and fourth place respectively. China’s Peiyuan Sun opted not to travel and finished in ninth place ($75,360) as per the rules.
