Can Shaun Deeb Win The WSOP Player Of The Year 2023 Title?

Every year, fans wait to see all the poker players of the world gather under one roof to battle against the best at the World Series of Poker ( WSOP). Apart from the prize pool and bracelets, all the poker pros also compete to walk away with the highly prestigious WSOP Player of the World Title. With just nearly three weeks left in the tournament, the WSOP Player Of The Year 2023 is out and has a lot of surprises in store!

Shaun Deeb currently tops the WSOP Player Of The Year race

Shaun Deeb is no stranger to winning WSOP bracelets. The American poker pro already had five bracelets against his name, with the tally going up to six after his recent victory in WSOP 2023. He managed to ship Event #27: $1,500 Eight Game Mix 6-Handed and pocketed $198,854, while his 5th place finish at Event #45: $1,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Low earned him $55,894. Alongside that, Shaun Deeb has fared well so far at the event, which earned him points to top the Player of the Year chart!

Ian Matakis finds himself in second place following his antics at the event, while Portuguese pro-Michael Rodrigues Peires Santos has claimed the third spot so far! It is very interesting to note how Satos is the only non-American poker pro to feature in the list!

Chance Kornuth sits just a few hundred points away from the Portugal native, with Chris Brewer a mere few points away from Kornuth and is quite likely to make his way higher in the rankings, given his excellent run in WSOP 2023!

The bottom half of the list sees Chad Eveslage sit at the sixth position, with Josh Arieh claiming the seventh spot. The likes of Micheal Monek, John Monnette and Jeremy Ausmus fill up the top 10 list. With more than 20 days of action still left, it remains interesting to see which players managed to accumulate the most points and end up with the WSOP Player of the Year 2023 award! As far as Deeb is concerned, this pro is not shying away from competition with his opponents on the Player of the Year chart.
