Asianlogic Group has announced the sale of Asian Poker Tour (APT)—the massively popular tournament series. Plans for ‘regional and international expansion’ were stated as the reason for the latest decision announced by the firm. This news came after APT was acquired by a newly formed entity called APT Events Private Limited.
The exit of APT from Asianlogic Group marks the end of the tour’s long partnership with the company. This move will also witness APT’s CEO Jeff Mann step down from his role after 12 years, in order to remain with Asianlogic. However, Lloyd Fontillas, an APT veteran, will continue as General Manager and Executive Tournament Director with added responsibilities.
Mann commented, “For some time now, we have been looking to pass APT to a dedicated and focused poker organisation that is capable of taking the tour to the next level.”
“With such a long and rich tradition, it was of the utmost importance that any partnership or sale would only go to an organisation with the same passion and dedication to continue developing the Asian Poker Tour as we always envisioned. Frankly, I’m pumped up by what the future holds for APT,” he further added.
Well-known Malaysian poker player Michael Soyza is among the new owners associated with the brand. Soyza commented, “Jeff and Lloyd have done a tremendous job of building the APT to where it is today. All the stakeholders, including myself, have been active participants on the APT for over a decade. We are beyond excited to work with the team and hope to reach new heights as we usher in a new era for the Asian Poker Tour.”
Asian Poker Tour recently concluded its 12-day APT Philippines festival and its next stop will be in Vietnam for the APT Vietnam Hanoi Loyal 2022. The upcoming event is slated to begin on 7th June and run till 19th June at the Grand Loyal Poker Club.
