APT VSOP 2022: Sajal Gupta Wins His First APT Title

Asian Poker Tour (APT) Summer Festival Hanoi 2022 at the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) is experiencing non-stop action. With another day of the poker fest coming to an end, it was Sajal Gupta from the Indian contingent that shipped the High Rollers Single Day. This is Gupta’s first APT win. Alongside Gupta, Ankit Wadhawan made it to Day 2 of the No-Limit Hold’em event.

Lebanese player Tony Khalil Chaya also took home his first APT title after clinching the Deep Stack Hyper Turbo title for VND 54,770,000.

Sajal Gupta’s Sweet Victory

Indian players are performing exceedingly well at APT, and Gupta just gave another victory to the home team. Gupta initially busted out of the Main Event race and immediately joined the High Rollers Single Day. A wise choice by Gupta, who quickly found himself making the money and entered the final table with only five players left.

The heads-up play started right after Gupta’s king-nine defeated Hoang Thai Son’s ace-two and busted the latter in the third place for VND 120,440,000. He then came face to face with poker pro Nguyen Quang Minh. Nguyen initially had the chip lead but had difficulty in maintaining the gap. Gupta, on the other hand, had three double-ups and soon took the lead.
