The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Summer Festival Hanoi 2022 will soon be crowning a new championship as the Final 8 of the Championships Event has been formed. Leading the final table is Deepak Bothra with the biggest stack. Held at the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP), the final table will begin tomorrow as players return to win the prestigious title.
Deepak Bothra finds himself in the prime position, leading the lot with a stack of 3,715,000 chips. Bothra made it to Day 2 of the event via the Day 1B starting flight and progressed onto Day 3 with a stack of 653,000. He quickly worked his way up to the top and is a favourite to ship the title. Bothra has been playing live poker for a long time. He took home the Deltin Poker Tournament No Limit Hold’em – Tag Team title in April 2017. He also finished 20th at the India Poker Championship Megastacks Main Event in May 2022.
Accompanying Bothra in the race for the APT Championship title are Indian poker pros Shardul Parthasarathi and Spartan Poker Pro Zarvan Tumboli. Both these players have had an incredible run at Vietnam. Parthasarathi shipped the APT Hanoi Loyal 2022 Main Event title, and Tumboli won the World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Vietnam 2022 Main Event title in May 2022.
At the start of Day 3, Tumboli was leading the 45 survivors with a stack of 1,151,000 chips. However, he wasn’t able to maintain this lead going into the final table and is now the shortest stack on the table with 545,000 chips. Parthasarathi bagged and tagged with the sixth highest stack of 835,000 chips. He had the third-highest stack going into Day 3.
Out of the 45 players that made it to Day 3 only the top 29 finished in the money. Final Table Series 3.0 ME winner Ankit Wadhawan finished in 11th place, just three spots shy of making it to the final table. He took home VN₫ 166,260,000 for his deep finish. Ritwik Khanna was eliminated in the 18th position for VN₫ 115,460,000. Akshay Nasa just made the money after he finished in 29th place for VN₫ 66,820,000.
