APT Vietnam 2022: Ankit Jajodia On The Final Table Of Championships Event


The coveted Championships Event at the ongoing Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam Hanoi Loyal 2022 has got its top eight final table contenders. Among the top eight is Indian poker pro Ankit Jajodia. He is the only Indian player surviving at this event.

The event, which welcomed 216 entries, has a prize pool of VND7 333,200,000 on offer. The top 35 places had advanced to Day 3, which was held today. With the final table of eight set, Day 3 has ended, and the top eight will now return tomorrow to battle it out for the Championships title.

Jajodia, who is now India’s only hope at the Championships event, will resume tomorrow with a stack of 670,000 (17 BB) at his disposal. He has the sixth-highest stack among the eight, with Vietnam’s Dinh Tien Thanh leading the pack with 790,000 chips.

Jajodia is one of the veteran players in the Indian poker circuit. He is also known among the international players due to his international cashes and titles. He won the No-Limit Hold’em – Kick-Off at the Manila Megastack event for $ 12,062 on 24th May 2019. In the same series, he shipped another title, No-Limit Hold’em – Hyper-Turbo, the next day, i.e., on 25th May 2019, for $590. He is also the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) Xpress Main Event winner. He shipped this event in Gangtok in the year 2019 for $4,711. Apart from these titles, he has also cashed in events like Pot Limit Omaha at Baazi Poker Tour in 2019 (2nd, $7,463), No-Limit Hold’em – Superstack at Manila Megastack 12 in 2019 (3rd, $7,958), and No-Limit Hold’em – Superstack at WPT India, Panjim in 2019 (5th, $3,741) among many others.

APT Vietnam 2022 Championships Event Final Table Chip Counts:

  1. Dinh Tien Thanh (Vietnam) – 790,000
  2. Jiang Yongbo (Singapore) – 1,095,000
  3. Thai Son Hoang (Vietnam) – 1,500,000
  4. Rijad Hasani (Kosovo) – 510,000
  5. Tran Huy Hoang (Vietnam) – 1,695,000
  6. Ankit Jajodia (India) – 670,000
  7. Nguyen Van Sang (Vietnam) – 2,125,000
  8. Dang Duy Thanh (Vietnam) – 2,415,000

Atlhough Jajodia sits with a slightly smaller stack, his experience makes him a player that can make the tables turn. India’s Sumit Sapra had also made it to Day 3; however, he was eliminated at the 12th place.
