APT Vietnam 2022: Ankit Jajodia And Sumit Sapra Advance To Day 3 Of Championships Event

It is no secret that the Indian contingent have been playing exceptionally well at the ongoing Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam Hanoi Loyal 2022 series. The much-coveted and anticipated Championships Event at the series is currently underway, and we have two Indian players, Ankit Jajodia and Sumit Sapra who are among the top 35 players to have successfully progressed to Day 3 of the event.

Indians have already bagged four APT Vietnam Hanoi trophies so far. While the Main Event of the series was clinched by none other than PSL Season 4 Kolkata Kings captain, Shardul Parthasarathi. Alok Birewar won the No-Limit Holdem title just a few days back. To top it, Mumbai-based poker pro Zarvan Tumboli managed to ship two titles in less than 24 hours. He won the APT Vietnam Hanoi Deep Stack Hyper Turbo event, and the very next evening also shipped the Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) title.

Coming back to the Championships Event, several Indian players like Parthasarathi, Ashish Munot, Alok Birewar and Manish Lakhotia were seen grinding on Day 2 of this event. However, only Jajodia and Sapra have managed to successfully progress onto Day 3 of the event, where the top 35 players will battle it out. While Jojodia enters Day 3 with the 11th highest stack of 362,000 chips, Sapra is slightly on the lower side at the 23rd spot with 256,000 chips.

Both Sapra and Jajodia are veterans from the Indian poker circuit and carry a lot of live poker experience with them. Sapra was most recently seen on the final table of the India Poker Championship (IPC) Megastacks May 2022 Main Event held in Jhapa, Nepal. Jajodia was also seen grinding at the series in Nepal.

With four trophies already coming to India, will these poker pros be able to add to India’s tally by adding a fifth one? Well, only time will tell. We rail for Jojodia and Sapra and wish them all the best! Bring it home boys!
