APT Hanoi 2023: Nikita Luther Ships Super Holdem

Indian female pro Nikita Luther has added another title to her name at the ongoing Asian Poker Tour (APT) Hanoi 2023 happening at the VSOP Club, Hanoi. India’s first and only female World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner shipped Event 22: NLH – Super Hold’em (3 hole cards) – Hyper Turbo. India’s Praveen Dwarkanath also cashed on the final table at this event.

The event was a VND 4,400,000 buy-in event, which unlike the regular Texas Hold’em, has three hole cards instead of two. Spartan Poker pro Zarvan Tumboli was also grinding at this event. It had a total of 80 players generating a prize pool of VND 310,400,000 (₹10,89,157), which was shared by the top 11 players. Luther nailed the event for the APT trophy and a pay cheque of VND 85.37M (₹2,99,558).

In the process, she beat Russia’s Nikolay Ponomarenko in the heads-up to claim her first-ever APT title. This victory also pushed her up to the 15th spot on India’s All-Time Money List. Her total career tournament winnings now stand at $440,500.

The Russian player walked away with VND 60,680,000 for his runner-up finish. Switzerland’s Sandro Burkhard took the second runner-up spot for VND 39,730,000. Poker Head of Deltin, Praveen Dwarkanath, also made it to the final table of this event and cashed VND 24,210,000 (₹84,901) for his fifth-place finish.
