Zynga Partners With World Poker Tour

Online social gaming giant Zynga has signed a multi-year partnership with World Poker Tour to bring the latter’s tournaments onto the Zynga Poker platform. Let’s take a deeper look into this partnership:

Zynga Inc.: Here’s an American video game developer founded in 2007 that shot to fame all over the world mostly due to their game called ‘Zynga Poker’, available to play on the social network Facebook, as well as Android, iOS, Windows and other platforms. Many successful poker players have credited the free-to-play Zynga Poker for introducing them to the sport.

World Poker Tour (WPT): Just like Zynga is a leader in online social poker, WPT is a leader and one of the premier names when it comes to internationally covered live poker tournaments and entertainment. Currently, Season XVI of the World Poker Tour is on, with a stop at the Fallsview Casino Resort (Canada) starting tomorrow.

World Poker Tour yesterday announced their multi-year partnership with the social gaming company Zynga Inc., with the intention of bringing the WPT experience into Zynga Poker. As a part of the agreement, Zynga will bring free-to-play WPT-themed tournaments into their game, by the second half of 2018.

“We’re incredibly proud to bring the World Poker Tour to Zynga Poker. Zynga has built the largest social poker game, and we are confident their millions of players will enjoy their experience even more with the introduction of WPT-themed tournaments in Zynga Poker,” said Adam Pliska, WPT CEO.

The partnership would also allow Zynga to use WPT’s presence in multiple channels like TV, online and land-based gaming to grow the Zynga Poker franchise. “We’re proud to partner with World Poker Tour, a global leader in real-world poker tournaments, to deliver an authentic in-game tournament experience to our Zynga Poker players later this year,” said Zynga’s President of Publishing, Bernard Kim.
