Battlegrounds Mobile India has been making headlines since the news of its launch came to light. Adding to the controversy, a legal case has been filed against a popular PUBG Mobile YoutTuber Paras Singh who goes by Paras Official for his racist remarks on an MLA Ninong Ering from Arunachal Pradesh.
The YouTuber reacted to Ering’s letter which was reportedly sent to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi seeking a ban on the game citing reasons of data privacy. Paras has been booked under the Indian Penal Code section 124A/ 153A/ 505(2). While streaming, Paras opened Ering’s Twitter profile picture and stated, “I don’t think he is from India.’ He further added, “I don’t think any of them are Indian. I have not met anyone from Arunachal Pradesh but maybe all of them look like this.”
These remarks by Paras sparked a public outcry which led to Paras apologizing on video. In subsequent videos, the YouTuber’s mother was seen requesting his viewers to forgive him for his misdeeds.”

While talking about this remark, the MLA said that the immature remarks of the YouTuber haven’t hurt him personally. As per news reports, the MLA further added, “He is free to point out any mistakes but the racist remarks are extremely serious and it needs re-thinking.”
Talking about the controversial comment, Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh tweeted saying,

Previously, Ninong Ering, MLA of Pasighat west assembly constituency and a former MP of Arunachal Pradesh wrote a letter to PM Modi urging him to ban Krafton’s Battlegrounds Mobile India game. As per the letter, the politician called it a Chinese deception.
Abhishek Singhvi, a member of the Rajya Sabha, said, “Instead of fighting the pandemic, the government is allowing PUBG to divert the attention of the youth. The government first banned it and then allowed indirect entry to a company with 15.5% Chinese stake.”
