Krafton Says Battlegrounds Mobile India Is NOT PUBG Mobile

After being banned for almost 8 months in India, PUBG Mobile will finally come back to the country with a new name, Battlegrounds Mobile India. However, since the announcement of the game, developers Krafton have refrained from using ‘PUBG Mobile’ in association with the new game. This was done by Krafton in order to distance themselves from the negative image of PUBG in the country.

Now, it seems that the company has also taken a step towards informing content creators to refrain from using the term ‘PUBG Mobile’ in their content. These efforts are being implemented by Krafton to avoid Battlegrounds Mobile India from being banned in the country.

According to a news report, Krafton has approached various content creators across the country and via Whatsapp and has asked them to avoid using the name ‘PUBG Mobile’ in relation to Battlegrounds Mobile India. In one of the alleged Whatsapp messages, the company clarifies that Battlegrounds Mobile India is an Indian version of the Korean game. In the message, they also encourage using words like ‘Korean game,’ ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India,’ and ‘Indian version’ while talking about the game.

Although Krafton doesn’t need to take permission from the Indian government for launching the new game in the country, there is a possibility that it could get banned. This could be the case if the government suspected any threats to national security due to the game. By informing people about the game’s difference, Krafton is trying its best to avoid another ban.
