WSOPE 2023 ME: Santhosh Suvarna Out Of The Race

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2023 Diamond High Roller winner Santhosh Suvarna also participated in the coveted €10,350 Main Event NLH European Championship. The Indian-origin poker pro made Day 2 via flight Day 1B. 

The fight to survive Day 2 was going to be a tough one. Suvarna sadly could not get past the competition and exited the game in the 320th position. The pro who won his first-ever WSOPE bracelet just a day ago lost to Fabio Peluso. 

Santhosh Suvarna Bust Out Hand – WSOPE 2023 ME

Suvarna played with KTo and his rival had Pocket Rockets. The community cards on the table were A♣ J♠ 8♠ K♠ K♣. Suvarna checked but Peluso bet 36,500 which covered his opponent’s remaining stack. 

Suvarna tanked for a while and Peluso called the clock on his rival. But Suvarna made an all-in call before the floor arrived at the scene. The Indian player’s three of a kind with Kings sank against Peluso’s full boat.  

Talking about the WSOPE 2023 Main Event, this tourney broke the 2022 record of the highest number of entries. WSOPE 2023 Main Event has 797 total registered entries. The 2022 Main Event had 763 total entries. The total prize pool generated by such a robust player field is €7,571,500. At the time of publishing there were 297 players left in the prestigious event.

Talking about Suvarna’s run at the WSOPE 2023, the poker pro managed to bring his country glory by nailing his maiden bracelet. He is also the only Indian poker player to have won a Triton Poker Series title.

Suvarna made history at Triton Poker Series when he scooped a pot worth $1.8 Million in a televised cash game. This high stakes poker pro is now second on India’s All Time Money List and under 250 in All Time Money List. 

As per Hendon Mob, this Mangalore-born pro’s total live earnings stand at over $6 Million. Suvarna’s best live cash came when he finished second runner-up in Triton Poker Series 2023 Monte Carlo Main Event.
