Just a few days ago, we reported about World Series of Poker (WSOP) releasing the schedule for their latest edition. Every year, poker players look forward to this announcement and the WSOP 2024 schedule didn’t disappoint either. There were many of the usuals, while some new entries in terms of tournaments, buy-ins, and structures on the schedule as well.
One of the biggest surprises was the introduction of Event #41: $1,500 Mixed NLH / PLO Double Board Bomb Pot. Now everyone’s probably thinking, ‘What the heck is Double Board Bomb Pot Poker?’ But we’re here to solve that for you, delve into the intriguing world of the WSOP 2024, and explore the enigmatic Double Board Bomb Pot tournament. 🃏💥
Top Board: A♠ T♦ T♣ 8♥ 2♦
Bottom Board: K♦ 6♦ 3♥ 6♠ Q♦
Your hole cards: A♣ A♦ 5♦ 4♠
Opponent’s hole cards: K♠ K♥ 9♥ 2♣
You win the top board, with Aces full of Tens full house. However, your opponent will win the bottom board in this example, with Kings full of Sixes full house. In such a case, it’s a chopped pot and both players take home split winnings.
Double Board Bomb Pot is usually played in the PLO format but for WSOP 2024, it’s going to be a mixed game of Texas Hold’em and PLO. It’ll begin on 15th June 2024 and a total of 3 days are assigned to this $1,500 buy-in event, with players being allowed two (2) re-entries each. Check out all details about this new WSOP tournament:

I have lost $2500 this week in double board PLO bomb pots where my opponents turned over straights and flushes they didn’t realize they had. Both times, they smiled at me as if they expected me to be as pleasantly surprised as they were

Why does every double board game have to be a bomb pot??? Can’t they have a double board game with normal no limit rules

They just released the @WSOP schedule and it’s nice to see a $1500 double board bomb pot event (Event 41).
I just wish they wouldn’t have bastardized it with Hold’em. 99.9% of entrants would be fine with this being PLO double board bomb pots only. Maybe next year.
