WSOP 2023: Robbi Lew MISREAD Her Winning Hand (She Rivered A Full House)

If you are grinding in the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) 2023, one expects that players are paying full attention (to their hole cards and the board). Misreading a winning hand is the last thing on anyone’s mind. But Robbi Lew is not anyone, she’s special. 

Lew has made a mark in the poker industry (mostly due to the J4o scandal and the publicity that came along). But being famous does not mean you get your shit right all the time. 

The Los Angeles resident posted a hand she played during WSOP 2023. Here, she did not pay attention to the board correctly. Previously, we heard of Alan Keating misreading his fives as deuces but dear god, Lew missed that she had hit a full boat on the river.

Lew had pocket threes and her rival played with QTs. At showdown, the dealer fanned out  flop of Ks 3h Qh. This gave Lew a set with her threes. The turn brought 9s and finally the river presented Qs which gave Lew a full house (333QQ).

Lew tweeted about this incident. She wrote, “I initially didn’t see the 3 on the flop… and the boat on the river! I thought he won with trip-Q’s and I was already getting up to outta there. World Series of It’s-time-to-pay-more-attention … and have a winner’s mentality! Picked up a few blinds early on in Level 1 and went all-in with this hand BB vs. SB with 33 > QT … I flopped a set, he rivered trip-Qs… which in turn gave me the boat I needed for a double-up! LFGGGGG.” (sic)

I initially didn’t see the 3 on the flop… and the boat on river! I thought he won with trip-Q’s and I was already getting up to 🏃🏽‍♀️ outta there 🤦🏻‍♀️

Be it the WSOP or any other series, it is crucial that players pay all the possible attention while grinding. Coming to the WSOP 2023 Main Event, Lew busted at the 2242nd spot. She played Day 1C and survived to play Day 2abc but sadly couldn’t spin it ahead to make Day 3.
