WSOP 2023: Pavel Plesuv Turned $1500 Into $1,201,564 Pay Day At Millionaire Maker

The 2023 edition of the World Series of Poker has crowned a new champion. Pavel Plesuv made history by winning his first bracelet and emerging victorious in Event #53: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold’em. He secured his biggest live cash to date, worth $1,201,564, alongside his first bracelet with this victory.

Plesuv outlasted 10,416 entries to become the first player ever from Moldova to win a WSOP gold bracelet. The poker pro was supported by his friends and family while he marched his way to victory.

It is worth noting that Plesuv turned his initial investment of $1,500 (the buy-in for Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold’em) and multiplied it ten folds at WSOP 2023. He ground out for five days to claim the biggest winnings worth $1,201,564 from the prize pool of $13,905,360.

The final heads-up play began with Plesuv holding 222,700,000 chips while Ribouchon sat with 37,400,000 chips. The Frenchman won a few early pots to chip up over 60 Million and was well covered. However, the final hand changed everything.

Pavel Plesuv min-raised with Ks Qs while Ribouchon three-bet to 5.4 big blinds with Js Jd. The Moldovan called, which saw the flop pop up to Kh 5d 2h. Later, Ribouchon checked-called to Plesuv’s 9,000,000 bet and the turn brought up Kd.

The French pro checked for the second time, and Plesuv decided to move all in. Ribouchon called as the 3c rolled on the river  and handed the pot alongside the title to Plesuv. While Pavel Plesuv earned $1,201,564, Ribouchon ended up pocketing $1,003,554. Both the winner and the runner-up ended up pocketing seven-figure paydays in WSOP 2023.
