The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is all about breaking records and creating history. And once again, Alek ‘astazz’ Stasiak has been crowned the champion! Thursday night was lit for Indian viewers as well because India’s ‘Alex_52’ finished second for a life changing amount.

The WSOP Online Event #52: $1,000 NLHE on GGPoker pulled in 2,006 entries, collecting a prize pool of $1.09 million and the Canadian took home his second bracelet, becoming the first player in the WSOP history to win two online bracelets which is absolutely incredible given the size of the field. Stasiak shipped Event #33 $1,111 Every 1 for COVID Relief for $343,203.

On the other hand, ‘Alex_52’ who finished second in the biggest online poker event in India – the 2020 July IOPC Main Event INR 3 Crore GTD was just one position away to bring the fourth bracelet to the home country. Stasiak banked the top prize of $273,505 while the Indian competitor added his career-best $270,190 (~INR 1.55 Crore) for settling in the second place.

After the bubble bust, money reached the top 278 places including Joshua ‘thefreshest’ McCully (29th, $6,091), Belarmino De Souza (27th, $6,091), India’s ‘goodkidmaadc’ (25th, $8,393), Srinivas ‘Grinder41500’ Reddy (15th, $11,566) and so on.

The first casualty from the final table was Argentina’s Federico ‘elputoamo!’ Molina who earned $21,962. After which several players including Jimmy ‘KOBE_BRYANT8’ Guerrero, Jesse ‘AAGenius88’ Mercado, Denis ‘FXOpen’ Peganov bowed out. Soon with the dismissal of Montenegro’s Dejan ‘627265’ Kaladjurdjevic in the 3rd place, heads-up play began between Stasiak (40 million chips) and  ‘Alex_52’ (9 million chips).
