World Poker Tour (WPT) champion Michael Mizrachi’s brother Robert Mizrachi shipped his maiden WPT title on 17th July when he nailed the Main Event after defeating Mike Vanier in heads-up. The latest WPT ME champ won the coveted title for a career-best score of $894,100.
The ME was a $5,000 buy-in affair which had 1,178 participants fighting for the ME title and top prize. The final prize pool worth $5.4 million crushed the advertised guarantee of $4 million. Seven players progressed onto Day 4. And after five hours of play the event declared its winner.
Post the spectacular WPT Venetian 2022 ME win, Robert joins the elite club of the WPT Champions just like his brother Michael who has two WPT titles to his credit. The new winner of the WPT Venetian 2022 ME is a popular name in the international poker circuit. This player ranks 154th in All Time Money List and has $8,821,611 in total live earnings as per Hendon Mob.
The final table (FT) has names like Yulian Bogdanov (3rd – $440,000), Leon Sturm, (4th – $327,000), Raul Manzanares (5th – $247,000) and Javier Zarco (6th – $188,000). All of these players who busted were chasing their maiden WPT ME title. But at the end it was Mizrachi and Vanier who locked horns in the heads-up clash to grab that shiny new trophy and a big fat pay cheque.
For those who don’t know of Mizrachi’s accomplishments, this player has four World Series Of Poker (WSOP) titles to his name which were won between 2007 and 2016. This pro shipped the $10,000 World Championship Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) tournament for $768,889. In WSOP 2010, Mizrachi and his three brothers cashed at the same event. Robert took the 116th position for $57,102. Mizrachi’s second bracelet came in 2014 when he took the title spot for $147,092. The third and fourth bracelets came in 2015 and 2016 when he shipped the Omaha and Seven CardStud Championship events.
