WPT Prime India 2023 Wrapped Up!

The much anticipated World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime India 2023 finally concluded amid much fanfare and action at the Deltin Royale Casino in Goa. The event which took place between 12th to 18th April 2023 had a lot of thrill, action and experiences for players in store.

Players, both recreational and professionals, turned up in large numbers aboard the Adda52 Live poker room. With a sparkling line-up of 13 events, the series crowned 13 new WPT champions.

Prasit Chowdhury Wins The Main Event

Prasit Chowdhury

A cash-game player, Prasit Chowdhury, took down the coveted Main Event title after beating a sea of 857 entries across four days to take home the coveted WPT title, the Main Event trophy and over ₹86 Lakh in prize money. Apart from his spectacular win, what grabbed eyeballs and melted everyone’s heart was his priceless reaction on his victory. Check it out here. 

Talking about his victory, Chowdhury said, “I am ecstatic to have won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour India. It’s an honour to be named the champion among such a talented field of players. The competition was fierce, and it was an intense battle to the finish line. I am grateful for the support of my friends and family. I also want to thank Adda52 for organizing such an exceptional event and providing us with a top-notch poker experience. I am looking forward to defending my title next year.”

Gagandeep Malik Ships High Roller

Gagandeep Malik

Poker pro Gagandeep Malik emerged victorious at the High Roller event after beating 227 entries over three days to pocket ₹59,60,000, the WPT trophy and the prestigious High Roller trophy. This event broke all previous records. In fact, the massive turnover led to the event being extended for an extra day. 

Malik was thrilled after taking down the title and said, “I am thrilled to have won the high rollers table at the World Poker Tour India. It was an incredibly challenging tournament with some of the best players in the world, and I am grateful to have emerged victorious. Every hand was crucial, and I stuck to my strategy and played my best game. I want to thank Adda52 for organizing such an amazing event and providing us with a fantastic platform to showcase our skills.” 

WPT Prime India 2023: List Of Winners

Gokul Raj Takes Down Two Titles

As many as 13 players took home WPT titles, but among them one player who shone the brightest was Gokul Raj who shipped two titles in the same series in a span of around five days. First, he took down the Ship It title for ₹4,25,000. Days later he shipped the Turbo Closer event for ₹5,71,000 on the last day of the series. 

Kanchan Sharma Headlines The Ladies Event

The series hosted a special event for female poker players. The ₹12,500 buy-in event saw a total of 26 entries who battled it out for the top spot. Finally, after hours of intense grind, it was female pro Kanchan Sharma who took down the Ladies NLH title for ₹1,33,000. Radhika Shankar finished second for ₹80,000.

WPT Prime India 2023 Breaks Records

WPT Prime India 2023 Main Event broke records by becoming the biggest ever in the history of WPT India. It reccorded a total of 857 entries and a prize pool of ₹5,06,48,700. It also awarded the biggest top prize to the winner of ₹86 Lakh in the history of WPT India.
