Gokul Raj Wins WPT Prime India 2023 Ship It NLH

Poker pro Gokul Raj has added a WPT title to his name after taking down the World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime India 2023 Ship It NLH event. The interesting event drew a lot of excitement and curiosity among players. The event which included two rounds – Round 1 and Round 2, had 100 players play 10-handed tables, wherein every players  Out of these the top 10 made it to Round 10.

According to the format of the event, the players on the table were forced all-in preflop in Round 1. After the board opens, the winning player proceeds to Round 2, without actually playing any hand. The players who qualify then play normally in Round 2. WPT India 2023 Ship It NLH saw 10 players progress to Round 2 and make it in the money. 

In Round 2, the 10 players were seated on two tables of five players each till one player was busted. After Amarendra Sahoo busted, the nine finalists were seated on to the 9-handed final table. Among these Kunal Patni, who was playing the Main Event Day 1C flight was on sit out. He joined the final table after busting from the Main Event and ran deep to take the third place at this event.

Finally, it was Raj against Rahul Singroha in the heads-up. Finally Raj beat Singroha to take the title. We recall Raj jumping out of joy when he won in Round 1 and qualified for Round 2. From screaming with joy for making it in the money to going on to win the title WPT trophy and the biggest pay cheque at the evnt, Raj certainly had a good day today.
