The World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Cambodia 2022 continues its run with players from all over the world flocking the live felts. Currently, it’s the WPT Prime Cambodia 2022 $1,100 Main Event that is drawing in players. The event concluded its first starting flight Day 1A and it was none other than Adda52 Game Ambassador Kunal Patni that emerged as the chip leader!
The day was bustling with high-octane poker action as a total of 265 entries participated on Day 1A. This comprises 213 unique players and 51 re-entries. Hosted at the NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh, the Main Event is well on its way to crush the $500,000 guarantee by a big margin. There are still two more starting flights (Day 1B and Day 1C) left to complete. From the 265 entries, the final 33 players survived to Day 2.
Banker turned poker pro was sitting atop the lot with a big stack of 708,000 chips. At the start of the day, Patni began with 30,000 chips like every player and turned that stack 13 times its value by the end. All thanks to his amazing run on the felts.
Mid-way through the tournament, Patni scored two double ups back-to-back. A big showdown against Hassaan Arif further increased his stack size. Even when approaching the end of the day, Patni continued to be in good form as he doubled up again through then chip lead Mingjun Kim after the Indian pro’s pocket kings defeated Kim’s pocket eights.
With a stack of 655,500 chips Kim sits on the second spot on the Day 1A leaderboard. Only two other players crossed the half a million-chip mark. They are South African players Rayhaan Cook (571,000) and Brent Cook (550,500).
Patni took to Instagram to announce his progress on the Main Event, saying, “Bagged the chip lead in Day 1A of the main event!! Let the good run continue…”
The Adda52 Game Ambassador recently shipped the WPT $300 Deepstack NLH and has made it to a total of three final tables in the series. He was also recently leading the Player of the Series leaderboard and is now at the number two spot.
Along with Patni, we also have Indian players like Rajashekhar Puttamsetty (430,000), Pradeep Nudurumati (282,500), FTS 3.0 Main Event winner Ankit Wadhawan (141,000), and Anil Adiani (27,500) among the 33 survivors. Other notable players to make it were World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2019 Poker Player of the Year Robert Campbell (415,500), Christopher Mateo (410,500), Denmark player Frederik De Linde Farrington (252,500), and more.
