WPT Prime Cambodia 2022: Indian Contingent Lands In Phnom Penh

After the recent conclusion of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) by PokerStars in Manila, several Indian pros will be grinding in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Cambodia 2022 in Phnom Penh.

This highly anticipated series will kick-start from 11th August 2022 and conclude on 23rd August 2022. The series will be held at one of Cambodia’s premium hotels and casino properties – NagaWorld Integrated Resorts.

Several Indian players who have been in Manila for over the past weeks have now headed to Phnom Penh. Players like Laksh Pal Singh, Abhinav Iyer, Shardul Parthasarathi, and Ankit Wadhawan did not shy away from blessing our Instagram feed with photos of the picturesque sky and the skyline of Phnom Penh on their Instagram stories to announce their arrival in the city.

Check out some Instagram stories

India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) January 2021 Main Event Laksh Pal Singh winner shared the picture in his Instagram stories with the text ‘New day, new city.’ Singh had previously finished runner-up at the $1,100 Main Event (ME) Warm Up back in 2019 at the same series. Looks like this Gurugram-based player is back to fulfill his unfinished dream of claiming a WPT title in Cambodia this year.

Shardul Parthasarathi clinched the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Hanoi Loyal 2022 Main Event in June 2022. He took home VND 1,929,250,000 (~ ₹64.82 Lakh) in prize money along with an APT ME trophy. Will Parthasarthi claim another ME title in Cambodia? Only time will tell.

India’s first solo World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer also marked his attendance in Phnom Penh with an Instagram story with the cloudy sky of the city. Recently the pro celebrated his birthday in Manila along with his poker buddies. Iyer’s experience is something that makes him one of the players to keep a close eye on in WPT Prime Cambodia 2022.

Lastly, Final Table Series (FTS) 3.0 Main Event winner also shared a similar photograph on his Instagram. The pro grinder has been in top form and has made money at several events. Will he clinch his first-ever live title at WPT Prime Cambodia 2022?

Apart from this, Dhaval Mudgal, who recently clinched his maiden PokerStars Live title in ₱5K Flipout For ₱96,000 event at APPT Manila 2022, is also ready to play at the upcoming series in Cambodia. When we reached out to him to know more about his recent victory, he confirmed that he plans to fly to Cambodia too.

We wish all the Indian players all the very best for the upcoming series and hope to see some more titles coming home.
