WPT Prime Cambodia 2022: David Erquiaga Ships The Main Event


The much anticipated World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Cambodia 2022 Main Event has finally ended with David Erquiaga clinching the title for $137,008. After five days of play at the NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh, the Main Event has concluded. 

This WPT Prime Cambodia 2022 Main Event broke all records by attracting 1,050 entries for a $1,018,500 prize pool. The event became the biggest live poker event in Cambodia’s history and the largest WPT event in Asia. The top 131 finishers made it in the money. Erquiaga beat Chi Jen Chu in the heads-up clash, as the latter finished at the runner-up spot for $120,980.

From over 25 Indians who played in various flights of the Main Event, just two of them, namely Kunal Patni and Ankit Jajodia, made it to the final table. First it was Jajodia who walked away at the seventh spot with a pay cheque of $27,510. Soon after, Patni entered the final table with the second highest stack and bowed out at the sixth spot for $35,690.

When the field was down to the top three, the players agreed on a three-way deal and continued playing for the title. According to the deal Erquiaga would take $133,408, Chu would take $110,980, and Junnie Pamplona was assured $106,482 in prize money. Additionally, the runner-up would get an extra $10,000, while the winner, an extra $14,000, consisting of a $10,400 seat for the WPT World Championships and $3,600 in cash.
