WPT Cambodia 2024 Championship: Indians Who Made Day 2 


The World Poker Tour (WPT) is running full steam in NagaWorld, Cambodia and the event which everyone was waiting for kicked off on 25th January. Yes, we are talking about the Championship event. This tournament had two starting flights and Day 2 is currently underway. 

Take a look at the Indian pros who are battling it out in Day 2. Indian players who qualified via the two starting flights namely Day 1A and Day 1B are Aditya Agarwal, Ankit Ahuja, Amit Kaushik, Dhaval Mudgal, Apoorva Goel, Kaushal Vasa, Ritwik Khanna, Sriharsha Doddapaneni, Vikaash Shah, Anil Adiani, Abhijith Cheruku, and Asish Ghosh. 

WPT Cambodia 2024 Championship Day 2

Day 1A ended with Thai player Punnat Punsri ending the day as the chip lead with 176 big blinds (BB). Total 118 survived the bloodbath in the first starting flight. This flight saw Indian poker pro Amit Kaushik end the qualifier with the third highest stack of 134 BB. Doddapaneni, Ahuja and Adiani were other Indian players who qualified via the first starting flight to the Championship event.

Day 1B had Nozomu Shimizu leading the pack of 113 survivors from a total player field of 387. The total number of entries across the two starting flights stood at 760 and the Day 1B chip lead marched ahead with a stack of 519,500 (173 BB). Entries were to remain open till the start of Level 9 on Day 2.

WPT Cambodia 2024 Championship 

The advertised guarantee of $1 Million was crushed and the final one stood at $2,432,760. Overall 95 players will make the money in this coveted tournament with the top spot player grabbing a pay cheque of $441,546. The runner-up will take home $287,255 in prize money. The min-cash stands at $6,054.

The Indian poker fraternity will be closely monitoring the progress made by our pros and it remains to see how many of them survive the tough fight and make it to the final table and eventually grab the trophy.
