WPT Australia 2023: Gaurav Sood Finishes 2nd In Survivor Bounty

The World Poker Tour (WPT) Australia 2023 is running full steam. The series runs from 14th to 27th September 2023 at The Star, Gold Coast. The tournament came with a buy-in of AUD $1,150 and had a starting stack of 30,000. 

Day 1 of this tourney was hosted on 18th September 2023 and Day 2 saw remaining players return to battle it out for the top title. Indian players Ankit Ahuja and Gaurav Sood had qualified for Day 2. The latest update from the Outback Survivor Bounty event is that Sood finished as runner-up. 

Sood shared this incredible news on his Instagram Stories. The online and live poker pro also added, “AT<A7 HU, 2nd for my best live score, GG. Grateful! We keep going.”

WPT Australia 2023 – Outback Survivor Bounty

This event saw Ahuja exit the tournament at the 5th spot. Sood on the other hand, reached heads-up play and was fighting for the top spot. Ahuja shared the happy news of making the final table in the Outback Survivor Bounty event alongside Sood on his Instagram Stories. He also shared the news of finishing 5th on his Instagram. Ahuja earned AUD 11.3K (₹6,07,108) in prize money and collected AUD 2K (₹1,07,452) each for three bounties.

WPT Australia 2023 – 8-Max Action Clock

Ahuja took the runner-up spot in Event #3: $5K 8-Max Action Clock at WPT Australia Gold Coast 2023. The Indian pro took a pay cheque of $77,618 for his second place finish. 

The winner was Raphael Tenenbaum for $116,424. This event had 84 entries with the top 11 players getting a piece of the prize pool. Ahuja’s runner-up score was his 30th live cash in 2023.

The pro has grabbed headlines in the past for his spectacular gameplay in live poker series. At the Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) 2023, Ahuja claimed the fifth spot in the Main Event. He had a payday of €177,810 for his impressive finish. Ahuja had also qualified for Day 2 of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona 2023 Main Event via flight Day 1B.
