The World Poker Championship (WPC) Summer Series hosted in Hanoi, Vietnam is running full steam. The tournament series will run from 7th – 16th July 2023, and is expected to have some fireworks this time around given the massive guarantees. Indian poker pro Ashish Munot has nailed the High Roller title and trophy.
He shared the happy news on his Instagram Story with a picture of him with the WPC High Roller trophy. The poker dynamo revealed that he chopped the heads-up and took down the WPC High Roller title.
The WPC Summer Series Hanoi, Vietnam July 2023 High Roller had an advertised guarantee of VND 1.5 Billion. With 200K as the starting stack, the event had 30 minute levels. The High Roller event had buy-in of $2,371.
Talking about Munot’s Asian poker series track records, this pro has some impressive finishes and titles to his credit. At the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Cambodia May 2023, Munot finished runner-up in the Mystery Bounty tournament.
The Indian pro was among the 243 entries who had registered for the event. For his second place finish, Munot took home $14,550 in prize money. This two-day event saw Amit Kaushik finish 6th for a payday of $4,033.
At the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Summer Series Hanoi, Vietnam, 2023, Munot finished third in the High Roller tournament. The pro took home a pay cheque of VND 1,217,310,000.
Coming to the titles, Munot had previously shipped the World Poker Tour (WPT) India 2019 Main Event title for a jaw-dropping sum of ₹63,48,641. The ₹55,000 buy-in tournament had Yuvraj Chaudhary as the runner-up. During APT Hanoi Feb 2023, Munot finished in the money on the 22nd spot.
