The poker community in India is filled with many prominent names that have taken the game to another level. Among these are pro players like Abhinav Iyer, Nikita Luther, Kunal Patni, Aditya Agarwal, and Aditya Sushant, along with countless others who have represented India on the international stage. Recently, Indian player Santhosh Suvarna made headlines when he reached the final table of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Event #5: $75K NLHE 8–Handed and finished in 8th place.
Now, Suvarna may not have shipped the event, but even getting to 8th place in a $75,000 buy-in Triton Poker series is not a small feat. The Triton Poker Super High Roller series is one of the most popular high-stakes events in the world, with many of the top pro poker players in the world grinding in the live poker series. While being among the small pool of Indian players at the series, Survarna’s success cannot be ignored.
Santhosh Suvarna is a Dubai-based Indian entrepreneur and a former Rockets Poker Room (Bengaluru) operator. He is currently in Cyprus for the Coin Rivet Invitational and is a well-known figure in the poker operators’ circuit in India. Earlier this year, Suvarna partnered with poker veteran Vikram Kumar to begin operations in the Cadillac Casino located at DoubleTree by Hilton in Goa.

In the past, Suvarna has played live poker events in India. In April 2017, he played at the Deltin Poker Tournament in Goa and finished 7th in the No-Limit Hold’em High Roller for $6,973. He also finished in 6th place for $8,839 at the Baazi Poker Tour No-Limit High Roller in January 2020.
The ongoing Triton Poker Super High Roller Series hosted Event #5: $75K NLHE 8–Handed which welcomed a total of 88 entries. The $75,000 buy-in event was brimming with action and as the game progressed, players started exiting the table one by one. Soon the money bubble was reached after Sean Perry was eliminated in 14th place.

The final table was set with eight players making it. Leading the final eight was Seth Davies with a stack of 3,580,000 chips and India’s Santhosh Suvarna had the shortest stack of 785,000 chips. At this point, Suvarna had battled through a field of 79 runners and was playing for the prestigious title. Now on the final table, Suvarna had his friends and family railing him on. However, the high-stakes pro saw his deep run come to an end after his A ❤ 8 ♦ was defeated by K ♠ Q ❤ .
Despite his early exit from the final table, the support of his rail continued. He walked away with a career-best of $245,000 (~₹1.95 Crore) in eighth place. Previously, Suvarna had only played live poker in India, so this is a huge step up from his previous endeavours.
Commenting on his success, Suvarna told PokerGuru, “It’s really a great and an amazing experience playing with top poker players and super high rollers. I am really enjoying high roller poker tournaments here and along the way, made all very good friends with people around the world.” (sic)
Suvarna also invited seasoned pro and Triton Poker title holder Patrik Antonius to play in the Coin Rivet Invitational. The $200,000 Coin Rivet Invitational is an event held in the Triton Super High Roller Series, which pits high-stakes poker pros against high-rolling VIP businesspeople. Each VIP is allowed to invite one poker pro to play in the tournament. However, out of the 90 entries in the tournament, only 17 players made the money, and unfortunately, neither of the two players finished ITM.
Since the turn of the year, Santosh Suvarna has been touring worldwide and has participated in multiple high-stakes events. Amongst his most popular outings, this Indian-origin poker pro managed an 8th-place finish at the 2023 Triton Poker SHRS Cyprus 25K Turbo. He also finished second runner-up at the Triton Poker Series Monte Carlo 2023 Main Event while recording multiple cashes at the Triton Poker Series London.
Santhosh Suvarna also recorded an 11th place finish at the WSOP 2023 High Roller before winning his maiden World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) bracelet in Event #12: €50,000 NLH Diamond High Roller for a whopping prize money of €650,000 (~₹5,80,18,482).
He also featured in one of the biggest high stake events in the WPT Big One for One Drop and recorded a sixth-place finish in 2023. Citing his major winnings and a purple patch of form, we can expect to see more of Suvarna in upcoming high-stakes poker events. With such notable success, many will be on the lookout for more incredible results from Suvarna.
When it comes to the latest news of Santhosh Suvarna Poker, the player is grinding at Triton Poker Series Montenegro. While rubbing shoulders with the who’s who from poker, Santosh Suvarna is making a steady headway in the Super High Roller Series. The Indian pro also featured on the latest edition of High Stakes Poker and made headlines for scoping the biggest pot in the history of the show. He beat Andrew Robl to win a pot worth more than $900K. With some massive wins and deep runs, speculations are rife about Santhosh Suvarna net worth running in millions.
