What Kind Of A Poker Player Are You?

Remember that time when you spotted funny faces in the casino? Yes, those days are back. Most casinos in India are opening up with all the necessary precautions and players are back in full swing. Depending on the way a player plays poker, there are a few titles that they are given. Let’s take a look at some of the most famous and funny ones.

Calling Station/Fish

This title is generally used to describe a player who continuously calls the bet and never takes a risk, irrespective of their hand strength. Such players often play with lucky cards that come their way, but never take the risk to change the game irrespective of any cards they get.

Rock

We’re not talking about the Rock who often says ‘Jabroni’ but about poker players who are reluctant to take risks and play only the best hand possible. Such players are also known as Nits. Rocks or Nits usually sit back and wait for the very best hand to come their way and would not mind staying without playing till that time too. Nits usually play the Kings, Ace, Queens etc., mostly the cards that are higher up in the hand ranking table.

Noob

Newbies who have not mastered the game and often do not show interest in learning the game are known as Noobs. But what’s the difference between Noobs and Newbies? Newbies have the zeal to learn and become better at the game while Noobs are mostly reluctant to learn new strategies about the game.

The Maniac

Aaah! Maniac’s are the ones who most players fear. Maniacs play almost all hands, keep raising and re-raising irrespective of their hole cards. Though such personalities may seem cool initially, they are a huge threat to noobs and newbies. Maniacs usually tend to test the patience of their opponents.

Sharks

Last but not the least, Sharks are players who are pros of the game. Sharks are mostly the ones who have the ability to read the minds of their opponent effortlessly.  

Mr. ABC

ABC is a poker term generally used to describe players who are always particular about rules. ABC’s in poker are the ones who always raise a huge blind and are typically the ones who are all about rules. Such perfectionists are a little difficult to handle as one cannot easily bluff them.
