VPL Hanoi 2024 Main Event: Navkiran Singh Finishes 5th


The latest update coming from Vietnam Poker League (VPL) Hanoi Summer Series 2024 is that Navkiran Singh claimed the fifth spot in the coveted Main Event. The Founder and CEO of Baazi Games made the final table with the third shortest stack (4,070,000 – 34 BB). The businessman cum poker player had previously shipped the Super Deepstack tournament for a payday of LP 555,000,000. When it comes to the Main Event, Singh took the fifth spot for LP 890,000.

Main Event – VPL Hanoi 2024

This marquee tournament came with a buy-in of LP 25,000,000 for a guaranteed prize pool of LP 12 Billion. The winner of this tournament will take home a pay cheque of LP 3.6 Billion. The runner-up of the Main Event will receive LP 2,430,000,000 in prize money. Among the Indian players who had an ITM finish include names like Kabir Tandon (20th – LP 152,000,000), Alok Birewar (48th – LP 66,000,000), Dhaval Mudgal (99th – LP 40,000,000), and Aveensh Munjal (11th – LP 275,000,000). 

This tournament pays the top 113 runners and the min-cash stands at LP 37,000,000. We also have players like Nishant Sharma, Jasven Saigal, Himanshu Chhikara, and Harshdev Jhirmiria among others grinding in the series. Munjal and Singh are the only two Indians who have shipped tournaments in this much awaited series.

Apart from the Main Event, the High Roller Finale had Dhaval Mudgal take the fifth spot for a sum of LP 1,150,000. Munjal and Sharma were also grinding in this event but couldn’t make it in the money and exited at the 34th and 35th spots respectively. 

Coming to the Sunday Deepstack event we have Mallika Sharma taking a prize money worth LP 14,000,000. Notable player Jatin Sablani took the 12th position for a sum of LP 50,000,000. Overall, Indian players made a mark in the series with title wins and impressive deep runs.
