VPL Hanoi 2024: Avneesh Munjal Ships Short Deck Event

Vietnam Poker League (VPL) Summer Series Hanoi 2024 is running full steam at the Grand Loyal Poker Club. Among the many Indian pros who are grinding at the series, we have one who has clinched the title spot. Yes folks, we are talking about poker pro Avneesh Munjal. The Mumbai-based pro shipped the Short Deck (Event #19) at the popular Asian live poker series.

Short Deck – VPL Summer Series Hanoi 2024

This Short Deck event had a buy-in of LP 5,500,000. The starting stack in this tourney stood at 10,000 and the late registration ended at the start of Level 9. The final prize pool in the Short Deck event settled at LP 92,150,000 thanks to the 19 entries who battled it out for the Short Deck title. 

The top three players got paid with Munjal taking the lion’s share of LP 47,000,000. Talking about the winner of this tournament, Munjal defeated Tran Hung Manh (Vietnam) in heads-up to secure the top spot, and add to his live trophy tally.

When it comes to players grinding in the VPL Summer Series Hanoi 2024, we have players like Jatin Sablani, Jasven Saigal, Harshdev Jhirmiria, and Sumit Sapra among others.

Coming to the Short Deck champion, Munjal also participated in Event 8 Megastack. Here, the pro finished 23rd for a payday of LP 15,000,000. Not just Munjal, many other Indian players are having a good run in the live poker events. Dhaval Mudgal shipped Mini Main Event at the recently concluded Poker Dream 10 Vietnam while Nishant Sharma shipped the coveted Main Event title.

Sharma created history with his win and India now has two Poker Dream Main Event titles. Apart from Sharma, poker veteran Raghav Bansal also made the final table in the Main Event and took the fourth position after the title holder eliminated him.
