‘ultimate’ wins SSS Event #12; ‘degen123’ tops Leaderboard

Another day and another long grind for those players vying to be among the top winners of the current edition of the Spartan Super Series (SSS). Scheduled on The Spartan Poker between 8-14 October, we saw another five tournaments being played out yesterday on SSS Day 3.

SSS Event #12 INR 200k GTD was the second tournament of the day, with an afternoon kick-off. The INR 550 re-entry tournament attracted a field of 451 entries and this ensured the guarantee was beaten, with a new prize pool of INR 2.25 lakh being created and eventually shared among the top 27 players with a min-cash of INR 2,030.

Coming out on top of this field and walking away with a huge return on his buy-in investment was ‘ultimate’, who beat everyone else on the day and was rewarded with the top prize of INR 49,610. In heads-up, he beat ‘degen123’, who has also been doing well in this SSS series.

Just the night before, ‘degen123’ won the SSS Mega Stack on Spartan and after one title and one runner-up finish, he has managed to hold on to the top spot on the SSS Leaderboard. In this SSS Event #12 of last night, he made another small addition of INR 33,600 to his poker bankroll.

The tournament came to an end in Level #44 when the blinds were running 9,000/18,000 – 1,800. By then ultimate has chipped up to a lead of nearly 5:1 over degen123. The latter didn’t have much of a stack to play with and decided to go all-in with 8s Ts, only to be called by ultimate who had pocket Tens.
