Top Tips to win before the hand is even Dealt

Sounds impossible, right? You’re probably wondering, this is nuts. But let us tell you, it is possible.

The game of poker requires you to make constant decisions. Online poker can be overwhelming since it compels you to make fast-paced decisions. It can put a lot of pressure on you. Small loses caused by bad decisions will slowly catch up to you. Making the best decisions with the information you have at hand is the key to winning games. Making the right adjustments all the time will determine your long-term success.

Selecting the Right Poker Room

This is one of the most important decisions you will be making in your online poker life. There are tons of different poker rooms available online and each one of them has a different offer. Whether it’s the software, the VIP system or the freeroll tournaments, it can be confusing to make a decision when selecting an online room. You should only select well-known online poker rooms with excellent reviews and industry accepted randomizing algorithms, like the Spartan Poker.

Fixing a Betting Limit

Before sitting in a game make sure you fix a certain betting limit. This is one of the most neglected decisions poker players make. Online poker rooms offer a variety of games, with many different limits to choose from. Consider choosing a limit you are most comfortable with.

Selecting a Table

Before starting check out at least three different tables. The best option is to select the loosest table. Once you’ve selected a table spend a minimum of ten minutes watching the play. Analyse the players, their betting techniques, their strengths, their weaknesses etc. Find games that best fit your skill and comfort level.

Your Position at the Table

Your position at the table will likely affect the outcome of your hands. You generally want to have the weak players on your right and the strong ones on your left. This is crucial because you will want to have a position on the potential fish at the table.

No Chatting

Turn off chat during hands. Chat is extremely distracting and very rarely valuable.

Turn off other distractions

Sitting for hours at a stretch in front of the poker screen can get monotonous. Most players prefer listening to music or other kind of distractions aside from poker. While listening to soft music has its own benefits, but studies have proved that multi-tasking actually causes one’s output to suffer. Doing several things at once makes us think we’re getting more done. But in reality, our productivity goes down. If you are listening to music, choose a more ambient and soothing tone.

Breaks

Taking breaks is very important. It limits the stress you put on yourself. Having an uninterrupted session for more than an hour can prove to be harmful, affecting your decision making. On the other hand, taking a five minute break in between hours can prove to be beneficial. When you are playing poker you need to be alert and making right decisions always. Taking short breaks in between will help you think clearly.
