Thursday Roundup: Patel, Dhall, Narwal Score Big!


We are slowly heading towards the weekend and Thursday night saw some massive guarantees on offer. Spartan Poker and PokerBaazi’s flagship event promised ₹20L GTD. Leading the charge was Adda52’s Godfather assuring ₹30L GTD. PokerStars India’s Thursday signature tourney came with ₹15L GTD.  So, let’s quickly do a complete recap of yesterday.

Ultron

The biggest guarantee tourney to play out on Spartan Poker last night was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD Ultron, which logged in 499 entries. The heads-up clash for the title took place between mystery players ‘Phantom0208’ and ‘Frank Lampard’. And Thursday’s champion was ‘Phantom0208’ who collected the top prize while the latter settled in the second place. The top 47 players finished ITM.

The Summit

PokerBaazi’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Summit collected ₹21.23 Lakhs in the prize pool from a starting field of 283 entries. Battling his way to the top was Yowan Patel aka ‘AllinMaestro’ who captured ₹4.96 Lakhs in top prize after eliminating ‘Chennaino1’ in heads-up. The latter banked ₹3.29 Lakhs for finishing second. Gokul Raj finished 3rd for ₹2.12 Lakhs, Gaurav Sood aka ‘gaug17’ earned ₹1.57 Lakhs, Kunal Patni aka ‘VasooliChacha’ seized ₹1.18 Lakhs.

Godfather

Adda52’s Thursday headliner, the ₹30 Lakhs GTD Godfather, clocked in 574 entries, with each of them ponying up the ₹5,500 buy-in. After almost eight hours of intense action, the title went to ‘borntrouble’ who won a hefty ₹7.05 Lakhs. ‘borntrouble’ defeated Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkif’ in heads-up who bagged ₹4.11 Lakhs for ending up in the second position.

Amit Dhall aka ‘darkfish15’ took down Table for 6 ₹5 Lakhs GTD on Adda52. Dhall ran past a field of 219 runners and pocketed ₹1.50 Lakhs in prize money. The tournament guarantee was easily surpassed, creating ₹5.47 Lakhs in prize pool that was eventually shared among the top 24 players. Taking home the second place payout of ₹87,600 was ‘Vibhuiit17’.

Highroller

PokerStars India hosted their Thursday flagship event last night. The popular ₹15 Lakhs GTD Highroller pulled in 209 runners, crowning a champion in Ujjwal Narwal aka ‘CougarHunter69’ who took home ₹2.94 Lakhs in prize money. Narwal outlasted Anmol Mehta aka ‘Kaanchacheena’ in heads-up who secured ₹2.16 Lakhs.

Battle Royale

PokerStars India hosted Battle Royale ₹5 Lakhs GTD last night. The ₹2,750 buy-in event drew 177 entries out of which the top 31 places got paid. It was an anonymous grinder ‘bananabarbar’ to come out on top and add ₹55,410 in top prize to his poker wallet. The champion defeated site reg Sagar Choudhury aka ‘sagarpupull’ in heads-up who collected ₹41,325.
