Thursday Roundup: Kumar, Gujral, Singh, Jain Win Big!


We are quickly moving towards the weekend and Thursday was exceptionally busy. The biggest attraction last night was Adda52’s monthly series AOPS promising a hefty INR 9 Crore GTD and on the other hand was Spartan Poker’s GPS #19 High Roller INR 50 Lakhs GTD event. So, let’s quickly do a complete recap of the Thursday marquee events and talk about who came out on top.

GPS #18 Ultron

The Thursday headliner on Spartan Poker was the INR 4,400 buy-in GPS #18 Ultron INR 25 Lakhs GTD. The popular tourney logged in 695 entries last night, striding well past the guarantee mark to generate INR 27.80 Lakhs in prize pool. Racing past a host of regs was Dhinesh Kumar aka ‘kendralust’ after a heads-up chop with Armaan Raj aka ‘RaveenaTondon’. Kumar topped the list and claimed the title while Raj secured the second place for his efforts!

GPS #19 High Roller

Boasting an incredible INR 50 Lakhs GTD, Spartan Poker’s GPS #19 High Roller kicked off last night at 9 pm. For INR 27,500, a total of 228 entries pounced on the field to seize the biggest portion of a mouth-watering INR 57 Lakhs prize pool. Eventually at 4:47 am, the last man standing was ‘RangeMerge’ who championed the field and bagged a 7-digit score, becoming the biggest winner on Thursday night. The anonymous grinder eliminated Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting’ in heads-up who secured the runner-up payout. Armaan Kochhar aka ‘space ace’ followed next while Ashish Munot aka ‘Donkey 07’ finished in the 5th place.

The Summit

PokerBaazi’s Thursday prime time tourney, the INR 20 Lakhs GTD The Summit drew 259 entries. The INR 8,250 buy-in event began at 8 pm and it nearly took 8 hours for circuit popular Raman Gujral aka ‘ifryu’ to emerge triumphant and defeat Vivek Singh aka ‘Nutpeddling729’ in heads-up battle. Gujral banked INR 4.71 Lakhs in first prize and his opponent bowed out with INR 3.3 Lakhs. Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting’ who has been running deep, once again finished 3rd for INR 2.12 Lakhs.

 Thursday MonsterStack

The INR 5 Lakhs GTD Thursday MonsterStack on PokerBaazi pulled in 169 runners to witness a fruitful prize pool. After the bubble bust, the top 21 places went out with INR 5K as min-cash. Racing past the competition was Gautam Rohilla aka ‘M8a7’ who collected the most significant chunk after knocking out his opponent Jayjit Ray aka ‘england’ in heads-up. The winner pocketed INR 1.24 Lakhs in prize money while Ray banked INR 87,150.

 AOPS Godfather

The fabulous monthly tourney AOPS on Adda52 is back and yesterday hosted INR 5,500 buy-in AOPS Godfather promising INR 30 Lakhs GTD. The exciting Thursday event clocked in 660 entries out of which the top 63 were paid out. At around 5 am, circuit regular Vivek Singh aka ‘Vivek94540’ powered through the field and clinched to the title along with INR 7.05 Lakhs in prize money. Avadh Shah aka ‘cateyes’ finished second for INR 4.11 Lakhs.

AOPS Big Game

Another massive event on Adda52 was AOPS Big Game INR 25 Lakhs GTD that attracted 184 runners. Each player chipped in INR 15,000 but only the top 19 could turn that into a min-cash. Two popular circuit grinders, Shashank Jain aka ‘felter’ and Sreekanth Narayan aka ‘n0thing’ faced each other in the final showdown and the former came out victorious with a winner’s paycheque of INR 6 Lakhs. Narayan collected INR 5.13 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

Highroller

Thursday on PokerStars India is reserved for Highroller INR 18 Lakhs GTD at 7:30 pm. And yesterday night, the event pulled in 224 entries with the top 34 players securing a share from the eventual prize pool. Claiming the top prize along with the valuable title was Dinesh Singh aka ‘P$_FI$H’ who captured INR 3.53 Lakhs after defeating Vaibhav Shah aka ‘vaibsaarav’ in heads-up. Shah added INR 2.60 Lakhs to his poker bankroll.
