Things Have Changed At The 2022 WSOP? What?

When it comes to poker, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is where history is made and champions are crowned. The poker event has only grown bigger and better with each passing year since its launch in 1970. As the series became more popular, the stakes, prize pools, and turnouts continued to grow. Now, at the 53rd WSOP, it’s clear that there will always be something to look forward to in the series. With WSOP, the aim is not just to provide the best tournaments and prizes but something unique that sets it apart from the rest.

Over time, there have been many changes at WSOP. In the past, the number of tournaments has increased, and the poker series has also changed its venues a couple of times. With something new to look out for each passing year, this time the popular poker series has a lot in store for its players. So, if you’re ready to see what is new at the WSOP 2022, then read on!

Brand New Venue

Last year WSOP bid adieu to Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, its home since 2005. This year, players will be stepping into the luxurious property of Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino for the prestigious poker series. Bally’s which will be rebranded as Horseshoe will see the new branding integrated in the series wherever possible. The new venue will include all convention space at both Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s. Due to this, the 2022 WSOP is estimated to have the largest tournament capacity in the event’s history with over 200,000 square feet and 600 poker tables!

The tournament will begin like any regular WSOP event and those who progress to Day 2 can claim the bounty of players they knock out. Every player who knocks someone out from the event will also get an additional prize bounty.

From 18th to 20th July, the series will host its popular Tournament of Champions! The event is a $1,000,000 freeroll tournament and this year, instead of allowing only all-stars of the poker community to play, it will open its doors to all the 88 bracelet winners and gold ring winners from the 2022 WSOP Circuit season. The year’s edition of Tournament of Champions is the first time where all WSOP winners in a given year will come together for one ultimate event. The freeroll tournament will feature regional grinders and even international superstars!

No Vaccination Required

Unlike last year where players were required to have proof of their vaccination, this year players heading to WSOP don’t need to be vaccinated mandatorily. However, players will still be accountable to follow CDC guidelines appropriate to them as individuals. For the WSOP 2022, masks will not be required on a compulsory basis.

With a new venue and some exciting additions, WSOP 2022 is bound to be an exhilarating affair for many players heading to the event. If you haven’t planned a trip to the mecca of poker, then what are you waiting for?!
