Suresh Kolli becomes second Godfather 6.0 Finalist

The specialty of the Godfather tournament is not just the huge prize pool that players can be a part of every Thursday night on Adda52, but it’s also the fact that the winners get an entry into the Godfather Finale SnG for a chance to win an all-expense paid international poker package trip.

Godfather 6.0 kicked off last week and here, 9 finalists will be declared and after these 9 weeks, players will get the chance to play for the INR 7 lakh package trip to play poker at the 2019 edition of the prestigious Aussie Millions series. Last week was the first tournament of this edition and Mihir Thakkar became the first winner.

Now players were all excited last night as another Godfather tournament kicked off at 8pm on Adda52 and by the end of the registration period, a total of 401 entries joined the tournament, which is exactly one more entry than required to match the advertised guarantee of INR 20 lakh.

It was a very long grind indeed for every player who made a deep run last night, eventually ending at 4:07am, which meant more than 8 hours of play at the virtual felts of Adda52. Plenty of top pros registered and eventually, the top 45 of these players were rewarded with a minimum cash prize of INR 7,018 (slightly more than the buy-in of INR 5,500).

The top 6 finishers ended with 6-figure scores, including Shivam Khanna aka ‘shivamkhanna’, who ended 4th for INR 180k. The grind continued and a battle between Suresh Kolli aka ‘insanium’ and Harshit Chopra aka ‘hashstack’ ensued in heads-up, with big prizes in store for both.

However, just one of these would win the tournament and book his spot in the finale. Yesterday, this player was Suresh Kolli, who took down the tournament for a whopping prize of INR 5,01,250. This was his biggest ever online score and an amount of INR 77,000 will be deducted from his winnings towards an entry to the Finale SnG.

Chopra finished second and he also won a pretty decent prize of INR 3,10,775 for the runner-up player. Gutshot caught up with Kolli after this victory and he said, “It was a tough grind. Godfather has a great structure, so it was about being patient and picking the spots right. The best part is I got in for half the buy-in because of an Adda52 promotion.”
