The ongoing World Poker Tour (WPT) Vietnam Passport to World Championship 2023 has Indians eyeing top titles, glory and a chance to play in the World Championship in December 2023.
Indian high stakes pro Sriharsha Doddapaneni has shipped the Megastack High Roller event. The well-known pro had a payday of VND 824,500,000 (~₹28,10,344). The runner-up was a Chinese player named Chen Peng. He added VND 550,000,000 to his bankroll for his second place finish.
This Megastack High Roller event had a buy-in VND 55,000,000 (~US$ 2,255). The event recorded total entries of 52 (37 unique) which generated VND 2,522,000,000 (~US$ 103,420). The top eight places were paid and the min-cash was VND 92,000,000.

Another popular player from the Indian poker circuit, Sameer Agarwal shipped the Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) Turbo event for a sum of VND 87,000,000 (~₹2,96,543). This was Agarwal’s first-ever WPT title. This event paid the top four places from a player field of 20 (15 unique). We asked thePLO Turbo winner about his thoughts on the win. He said, “It was great. I came close last year when I came runner up.. so it felt good to complete the job this time.” We also asked him about his participation in the series. Agarwal said, “I had taken a little break after WSOP, so I had been looking forward to a live grind in Asia at a good series. WPT is always close to my heart so when they announced this series, I decided then only to make this my first tour after my break.”
With a buy-in of VND 11,000,000, the event successfully generated a prize pool of VND 194,000,000. The min-cash paid stood at VND 23,500,000. The runner-up in this PLO tournament was a Vietnamese player named Duong Ngo Linh. For his second place finish Linh took a pay cheque of VND 48,500,000.
