Sriharsha D Wins DPT Colossus 200k Super High Roller

The first ever DPT Colossus was scheduled between 26th and 29th April 2018 and after Vivek Rughani won the 50k Warm Up Event, the focus shifted to the 200k Super High Roller, which was the highlight of this edition of the Deltin Poker Tournament on board the Deltin Royale in Goa.

The Super High Roller was not only the event with the highest buy-in, but it was also the most anticipated event of the series, with ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle promoting the DPT Colossus by taking part in this tournament. A modest field of 37 entries registered to this tournament.

Day 1 of the SHR ended with Madan Kumar in the lead and 22 players left, while Day 2 ended with Sriharsha Doddapaneni in the lead and 9 players surviving. Sriharsha played well on the final day of the 200k SHR, kept his lead and eventually shipped the tournament, taking home a career-best live cash of INR 28,70,000.

Sriharsha has been a popular player in the online poker circuit but is slowly making a name for himself in live poker tournaments as well, having recently finished 3rd in April’s Baadshah Gaming Live’s High Roller Event and taking home INR 6 lakh. This DPT win was quite an achievement for the poker player, beating the likes of Vivek Rughani, Abhinav Iyer and Raghav Bansal on the final table.

Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba, who finished second in the warm up event, finished third here for a payout of INR 14,36,000. Just like the warm up event, this event ended with both players going all-in pre-flop. Sriharsha held Q-J while Meherzad Munsaf had A-4, as the board opened J-5-10-2-6. This didn’t provide any assistance to Munsaf and gave Sriharsha the title with J-pair.

200k SHR final results:

  1. Sriharsha Doddapaneni – INR 28,70,000
  2. Meherzad Munsaf – INR 19,16,000
  3. Minissha Lamba – INR 14,36,000
  4. Abhinav Iyer – INR 10,90,000
  5. Raghav Bansal – INR 8,00,000
  6. Madan Kumar – INR 6,00,000
