Earlier in November, Finnish high-stakes pro Patrik Antonius posted a video to social media about coming to India, sharing his excitement regarding his first ever trip to the country. The trip was planned to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the Deltin Group and as part of the celebrations, he would also be playing poker at the Deltin Royale in Goa.
The poker community would have been very thankful to Adda52 as they also gave players the chance to win a seat to play with Antonius in Goa. Starting 22 November, players could participate in Max Hands Play Contest on Adda52 to rank on the exclusive leaderboard.
The top 8 leaderboard players then qualified to play in an SnG tournament on 29 November, to see which player would win a chance to trade chips with Antonius. After a few hours of exciting action on the virtual felts of Adda52, it was Pune-based Siddarth Singhvi who completed the victory and took home the top prize – an INR 5 lakh seat to play at the cash table with Antonius.
Singhvi will now be packing his bag and getting all set to fly down to Goa and play with the Finnish poker legend. This is a big move for the Indian poker industry and Singhvi will be looking to make the most of this experience. They game will be played on 2nd December.
Gutshot caught up with Singhvi shortly after he won this tournament and he said, “Patrik SNG had a great structure and my opponents were some of the best players in the country. I’m very happy to close it down with a victory. I am excited and looking forward to play with Patrik Antonius, let’s see how that goes now (fingers crossed).”
Let’s not forget that Singhvi had a good outing in Goa just last month, where he won the Megastack Event at the 2018 WPT India at the Deltin Royale. How well do you think he could do against Antonius?
