Siddarth Singhvi is one of the better-known players in the Indian poker community, always winning a few titles here and there in the online space, while also having a few victories under his belt in the live circuit. Last night, he added another feather to his cap, winning one of the newer tournament offerings on Spartan Poker.
Head-Hunter INR 10 Lakh GTD is a KO re-entry tournament that is played every Thursday on Spartan with a buy-in of INR 5,500. The very popular bounty format attracted some of the best players last night and eventually, a field of 207 entries was recorded, with the top 20 being paid INR 13,400 each.
Quite a few known players finished in the money here including Pranjal Gandhi (18th), Lakshpal Singh (17th), Abhishek Garg (10th), Pranav Khandalkar (5th) and others. Heads-up eventually began between Singhvi, who plays as ‘PeterPunter’ on Spartan Poker, and another well-known player in Siddharth Karia aka ‘schemer77’.
What began at 7:30pm last evening ended today at 1:32am after a grind of a little over 6 hours and Singhvi took away the top prize of INR 3,11,125 which included INR 2.4 Lakh from the tournament prize pool and INR 71,125 from the bounty prize pool. His opponent Karia won INR 1.73 Lakh for finishing second.
Featured tournaments take place on Spartan daily with varying buy-ins and varying guaranteed prize pools. With most of the top Indian players travelling to Las Vegas to be a part of the ongoing WSOP 2019 series, we might see a few new faces emerging as winners in the days to come.
