Shuchi Chamaria Bags Her First Live Title At WPT Prime Vietnam 2023 Big Bounty


India’s female pro Shuchi Chamaria grabbed her first live at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime India 2023. The Bengaluru-based pro nailed the Big Bounty event at the ongoing series, and pocketed a sum of VND 138,600,000 (₹4,87,761) for her efforts. 

The Big Bounty event was a VND 11,000,000 (~US$ 470) buy-in event, which generated a final prize pool of VND 855,400,000 (~US$ 36,440). The prize pool was shared by the top 23 finishers from among the 182 entries (136 unique, 46 re-entries) at this event. 

When the event was down to the three-handed, the final three players, Chamaria, Tuan Anh Tran and Hung Viet Le agreed to flip for the title. Chamaria triumphed after three flips, refusing Tran his second series title in the process. Tran took the second spot for VND 169,100,000, while Le took home VND 149,300,000.

Chamaria had a supportive rail, who happily posed for a picture later on. The rail included her husband and Indian poker legend, Aditya Agarwal, Kunal Patni, Shardul Parthasarathi, and Ashish Munot. The female pro has recorded many cashes in her career. Recently, she was also seen grinding at WPT Prime India 2023 wherein she made it to the final table of the SuperStack event and finished sixth for ₹2,07,000.

Apart from Chamaria, IOPC January 2021 Main Event winner Laksh Pal Singh also cashed at this event. He took the 21st place for a payday of VND 10,000,000. Chamaria’s victory marks the third title for India in the ongoing series. Avneesh Munjal grabbed the first title at WPT Opener event for VND 770,000,000 (approx. ₹27,15,265). The second title came when Amit Kaushik pocketed VN₫ 1,006,000,000 (~$42,845) and his maiden WPT title at 8 Max Main Event Warm Up
