Shaun Deeb Laughed At Phil Hellmuth And Here’s How The Latter Reacted!

All the top pros and poker players from across the globe are assembling at Paris and Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023. Among the sea of players flocking to the venue are well-known and controversial names like Shaun Deeb and Phil Hellmuth.

Recently, the two were on the same table at the WSOP 8-Game Mix event, and something happened that made Deeb laugh at the 16-time WSOP bracelet winner. He described that nothing else gives him more joy than seeing the ‘Poker Brat’ incorrectly fold an AKo. He further explains that it was a 6-handed game pre-flop. The player in the UTG made a 2.5x raise with his 15BB. The player next to him shoved his 25BB UTG+1 with AQo. Hellmuth, with 32 BB in the small blind, folded the hand and showed Deeb his cards. Looking at the fold, Deeb laughed at the six-time WSOP bracelet winner.

Hellmuth retweeted Deeb’s tweet and wrote, “Sigh…” (sic.)

Hellmuth also shared the hand on Twitter, saying, “W 85 left in @WSOP 8-Game Mix, folded AK pre-flop in NLH, whoops! UTG raise, next to act all in for 26 big blinds w A-Q, I fold A-K w 32 BB’s. Whoops!” (sic.)

Well, maybe folding an AK preflop from the small blind looks like a mistake or a bad fold , but a player like Hellmuth definitely knows how to play his cards. The Palo Alto resident has made it in the money at the event, marking his fourth cash of the series already.
