Santhosh Suvarna Advances To WPT Big One For One Drop Day 2

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is ending the year with a blast as the brand hosts multiple events like the WPT World Championship, WPT The Big One For One Drop, and WPT Prime Championship right now.  The $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop is one of the most-anticipated tournaments amongst them. Poker legend and WPT Ambassador Phil Ivey were among the 17 Big One for One Drop event entries.

Indian poker pro Santhosh Suvarna has also been playing at the event, which boasts a massive buy-in of $1 Million (~ ₹8.3 Crore). The likes of Matthias Eibinger, Chris Brewer, Martin Kabrhel, Isaac Haxton, Dan Smith, Stephen Chidwick, Adrian Mateos, Jason Koon, Mario Mosboeck, David Einhorn, Mikita Badziakouski, Rick Salomon, Nick Petrangelo, Talal Shakerchi and Fedor Holz are featuring in the event alongside Suvarna and Ivey.

All 17 players made it past the first five levels without any elimination at dinner break. However, they returned to play four 60-minute levels before ending the day which saw the field reduced to 14 players at the end of Level 8.

Dan Smith leads the way with a 3.68 Million stack against his name. He won a huge pot against Mario Mosboeck before busting out Phil Ivey to find himself as the chip lead. Sitting at the second spot is Santhosh Suvarna, with a 2.16 Million stack, while Adrian Mateos, with a 2.03 Million stack, rounds up the top three.

It is worth noting that the payouts for the top four places finishing in the money are confirmed. The winner of WPT the Big One for One Drop 2023 is all set to pocket $7,114,500, while the runner-up will pocket $4,663,950. The third-place finish will earn $2,806,750, and the 4th place will get $1,224,800 for their respective performances.

With Suvarna heading into Day 2 with the second biggest stack, it remains interesting to see if the Indian poker pro can ship one of the most prestigious titles in world poker. You can also keep a tab on Santhosh Suvarna’s latest outings by clicking here.
