Sanjay Gupta wins first Godfather 5.0 title on Adda52

Adda52 is one of India’s biggest online poker companies and the Godfather is one of the biggest tournament offerings on their platform. Recently, we reported news of Shravan Chhabria shipping  the finale of the fourth edition of the Godfather series and winning an INR 10 lakh poker package trip to Europe.

Adda52 was quick to launch Godfather 5.0, where a tournament will take place every Thursday night at 8pm and the winner would win a seat into the SnG Finale, where eight eventual winners will battle it out for the mega prize of an INR 7 lakh package trip, this time not to Europe, but to the prestigious Aussie series in Australia, which takes place early next year.

INR 87,500 will be deducted from the winner’s prize amount each Thursday towards a seat to the Aussie SnG Finale. Yesterday was the first Godfather tournament of the new series and Sanjay Gupta aka ‘sanjayguptalko’ topped a packed field to take down the title and INR 5,73,300 in prize money, of which INR 87,500 will be deducted towards a ticket to the finale.

This tournament usually attracts the best tournament players in the industry as everyone wants to make an international trip and multiply their winnings. The INR 5,500 buy-in attracted a total of 441 entries and this beat the advertised guarantee, created a new prize pool of INR 22.05 lakh, and this was shared among the top 27 players with a min-cash of INR 13,230.

Gupta has now given himself the chance to win a trip to Australia and the 10,600 AUD ticket to the Main Event, with the SnG Finale scheduled for 28th October 2018. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for a weekly update on the Godfather tournament series.
