Sameer Tavanandi tops PPL Winter ’18 Leaderboard

PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) Winter Edition 2018 kicked off just a week ago, on 10^th December, and saw its final day yesterday, the 16^th. The week-long series featured plenty of exciting and action-packed events lined up for the pleasure of the overwhelming turnout it received.

There was a PPL Winter ’18 Leaderboard also being hosted by PokerBaazi for the duration of the series. With the series in the books yesterday, this leaderboard also declared its toppers simultaneously.

Out of the top 15 players who were to be paid for ranking on the leaderboard, Sameer Tavanandi aka ‘Killersam’ finished 1^st, earning the top cash prize of INR 3 Lakhs out of INR 10 Lakhs GTD kept aside for the leaderboard. He jumped from 10th place yesterday to 1st place today, which shows how well he did on the final day. He had accumulated a total of 3,386 leaderboard points and earnings of INR 4,91,178 from playing in the series.

Tavanandi played all 34 events in PPL Winter Edition, and cashed out in 11, including 2 tournament wins. His first was on PPL Day 2, where he shipped the SuperStack INR 5 Lakh GTD after overcoming a field of 698 entries. His second win was yesterday when he shipped the last event – #34 Time Bomb 1 Lakh GTD.

Along with topping this leaderboard, he finished 2^nd in the Yearly PPL Leaderboard, a leaderboard for all the four combined PPL editions, earning another wholesome INR 4 Lakhs for it. Such a finish indicates how consistent he has been this year and it will surely add a welcome amount to this bankroll, enabling him to play more and more in the future.

Gutshot got in touch with Tavanandi to get his reaction, and he said, “Winning feels really great, especially after being 10th at start of yesterday. It was my dream to be Baazigar of the Series, especially after I ranked 3rd the first edition of PPL Leaderboard this year.”

Second to rank in the PPL Winter leaderboard was Sajal Gupta aka ‘Bloodless’. He played a total of 33 events, cashing out in 13, including winning the The Vegas on PPL Day 3. He has total earnings of INR 8,51,858 from this series.

Other known names to rank in the money include Anish Suri aka ‘THENUTS’ (3^rd), Neeraj Kumar aka ‘SelfClaimedPro’ (4^th), Nishaanth Shanmughasundaram aka ’shanni’ (5^th), Amar Mehta aka ‘kidpoker0109’ (6^th), Akash Gupta aka ‘durrrr1310’ (7^th), Aditya Sushant aka ‘gangajal’ (8^th), Shubham Singla aka ‘Shabbaking’ (9^th), Kavish Kukreja aka ‘Narcos’ (11^th), Ramlakhan Meena aka ‘Hitler’ (12^th) and Shardul Parthasarathi aka ‘duuurrrr’ (13^th).

The PPL Autumn Edition Leaderboard also had INR 10 Lakhs GTD and the 1^st place prize of INR 3 Lakhs went to Akshay Nasa at the time. Now with the conclusion of the PPL Winter Edition, the PPL Yearly Leaderboard also came to an end and saw Ramlakhan Meena finishing 1st to win a brand new Harley Davidson from PokerBaazi.
