Rubin Labroo wins WPT Vietnam Package on PokerDangal

The top Indian poker companies are always looking for ways to reward their most loyal users and PokerDangal recently launched a new tournament offering called ‘Vietnam Calling’, which was contested on 26th August 2018. As the name suggests, the tournament winner would eventually win a package trip to play poker at the upcoming WPT (World Poker Tour) Vietnam series.

In the past, PokerDangal has offered package trips to APPT Manila, as well as package trips to EPT Sochi in Russia through their recent offering called the Step Challenge 2. Now, they hosted a WPT Vietnam Satellite tournament, where the winner took away a package trip to WPT Vietnam worth INR 2 lakh.

Everyone loves the Sunday grind, but not many would’ve loved it more than Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid’, a Delhi-based poker player who has been having a great year in poker thus far. He shipped this WPT Vietnam Satellite tournament on PokerDangal and will now be packing his bags to fly to Vietnam, where the WPT series kicks off on 26th September.

Labroo began his year with an Elite PLO High Roller victory on The Spartan Poker, which he quickly followed up with winning the PPL Main Event on PokerBaazi and registering his biggest online score. He then went over to Bangalore and participated in Purple Poker’s live tournament called Freedom Blast, where he won INR 2.15 lakh for beating the field of 121 entries.

The tournament began at 8pm on 26th August and had a buy-in of INR 3,850, with everyone’s eyes only on the top prize of the Vietnam package. Ultimately, none of these players were good enough to beat Labroo, who now has a chance to add more international live cashes to his name, after cashing in the Asia Poker League (APL) in Vietnam itself earlier this year.

Gutshot caught up with Labroo after he shipped this Vietnam Satellite. Talking about the overall tournament experience, he said, “Great value tournament hosted by PokerDangal. Very flexible and friendly experience with arrangement of everything. Great work Team Dangal.”
