The Spartan Super Series, hosted by The Spartan Poker, started two days ago, on the 21st, and has plenty of action-packed tournaments lined up every day till the final day on Nov 25th. There were six events hosted yesterday as part of this series, one of them being the biggest buy-in tournament of the SSS – INR 55K Super High Roller with INR 40 Lakhs GTD.
The SHR, which commenced at 9:30 pm yesterday, attracted a total of 95 entries, crushing the guarantee and creating a new prize pool of INR 47.5 Lakhs. Top 8 players were paid at the end. Rohit Mishra, aka ‘ShippingYard’ finished first in this event, taking home a staggering first place prize of INR 14,13,125. Mishra certainly knows the ins and outs of shipping big tourneys, as per his username. Mishra won the heads-up against another known player, Jayjit Ray aka ‘David Blaine’. Ray won the runners-up prize money of INR 8,90,625. Ray recently won the BLT High Roller in Goa last month.
The final hand was at Level 36 with blinds 7,000/14,000 ante 1,750. Mishra was sitting with a little over 4:1 chip lead. After SB and BB, Ray, with his Pocket Eights, raised 21,000 and Mishra re-raised to 84,000 with his Qd As hole cards. Ray went all-in pre-flop and Mishra called. The board eventually came to 8d Ad 7c 2d Td and Mishra won the entire pot of 884,916 chips with his diamond flush on the river, beating Ray’s Three of a Kind in the showdown.
The SSS Super High Roller saw some pros take part in it as well. Tiger10, who finished third, also shipped a hefty 6-figure prize of INR 7,00,625. Tiger10 has seen many victories recently. He even bagged the INR 10 Lakh Europe Trip for shipping Spartan’s Destiny 6.0 finale just last month.
Aditya Sushant aka ‘SuperuSer’, coming back from winning his maiden title at the WPT Goa, also made it to the top 8 of Super High Roller after firing two bullets, and cashed out ~INR 3.32 Lakhs for 6th place.
