Rick Salomon’s Set Turns Into A Brutal Cooler For Rival

Rick Salomon squared off against Brandon Steven, which saw the duo play out one of the most memorable pots in the 11th season on High Stakes Poker. This session of the game consisted of Salomon, Steven, Jean-Robert Bellande, Jennifer Tilly, Justin Gavri, Rob Yong and Bobo Chann. The episode saw some massive pots, bluffs, aggressive play and some of the best action we have seen in live poker recently. 

While the 11th episode of the ongoing High Stakes Poker took no time for the action to heat up, this particular hand from the entertaining 45-minute episode stands out compared to every other hand played. It would be fair to say that PokerGo witnessed one of the most brutal coolers seen in the game.

Rick Salomon’s Set Drowns Brandon Steven’s Set With Ease

The hand begins with four players interested in going forward with the hand while the action sees Tilly make a call on the button holding 10 ❤ 7 ❤ , as Steven (3 ❤ 3 ♣) follows suit before Bobo (A ♣ K ❤ ) makes it $30,000. Salomon (5 ❤ 5 ♦ ) called, and so did Steven and Tilly, as the pot was valued at $121,900.

The flop of 5 ♣ 3 ♦ J ♠ led to a set-over-set situation: Solomon’s 5’s against Steven’s 3’s. Pamela Anderson’s ex-husband bet $42,000 with the middle set, as Steven called with the bottom set while the remaining two players folded.

The 6 ❤ popped up on the turn, which saw Steven push all-in after checking and then check-raising ($90,000 to $142,000). It is worth noting that the only way he could win the hand was if the miraculous one-outer showed up. However, Salomon ended up winning the massive $490,500 pot when the river bricked. 

This remains to be one of the biggest pots we have seen on High Stakes Poker this season. It would be interesting to see if the upcoming episodes continue to produce such high-octane and action-packed hands.
