Rick Salomon Beats Brandon Steven’s A** Again In A $400K+ Pot

Rick Salomon is killing it on the poker table at the ongoing High Stakes Poker season. Earlier, he made the news by playing one of the most memorable hands in a previous episode of the 11th season of High Stakes Poker.

Salomon’s set turned into a brutal cooler for Brandon Steven which left a bad taste in the latter’s mouth. Steven again found himself heading home early on a table that consisted of Rick Salomon, Jean-Robert Bellande, Jennifer Tilly, Justin Gavri, Bobo Chann, and Rob Yong.

This particular hand from the ongoing High Stakes Poker stands out compared to every other hand we have seen in the recent past as poker gods smiled at Salomon again and handed him an impressive win. It would be fair to say that PokerGo witnessed one of the most interesting hands we have seen in a while.

The hand starts off with Bellande (A 5 ), Gavri (8 6 ) and Yong (6 3 ) straddling from $800 to $3,200 with Steven (K K ) calling it and Chan (4 2 ) folding. Salomon (9 7 ), from his small blind position, raises to $15,000 with Tilly (Q 10 ) bowing out.

Bellande, Gavri and Yong all followed Tilly and decided to fold, leaving Salomon and Steven to battle it out for the pot once again, which was valued at $24,700. Steven went on to 3-bet to $73,000, which saw Salomon making the call with $58,000 to add.

The flop of 8 7 3 pops up as Salomon makes a check, and Steven goes all-in quickly. Salomon calls and displays his cards on the table as both the players decide to run the board twice, with every other participant clattering about the hand.

The turn card of A propelled Steven’s chances of winning close to 90%, but the 9 on the river saw Salomon win the first round. With just four outs left, the probability of Salomon winning the hand was just over 20%, but the 7 on the turn handed him three of a kind when the board was run the second time.

Steven ended up just pushing his entire pot to the centre without waiting for the river, as 5 did him no favour and saw Salomon win a whopping $437,100.
